Many of us would prefer aging-in-place in our own homes to moving to a continuing care community or senior living facility. Some of us have already made modifications to our current homes: adding additional staircase bannisters and bathroom grab bars, removing area rugs we could trip on, installing a stair-lift or elevator, remodeling a first floor powder room into a full bathroom.
But you know what they say about best laid plans. It’s good to have options. What happens when aging-in-place is no longer a viable option?
This month we’re going to return to a speaker format. One of our longtime members has graciously agreed to share her experience of moving into a senior living facility. She’s going to talk about what went into her and her husband’s decision and what she wishes they’d considered but didn’t, as well as the adjustment period after moving in, which was harder than expected.
After her talk, we’ll invite everyone to share their thoughts and experiences, as well as any questions.
DATE AND TIME: Wednesday, November 4. 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm via Zoom.
RSVP’s appreciated.
