February heralds in Groundhog Day as well as our monthly meeting. This year, they both fall on the same day–the first Wednesday of the month. Let’s hope that legendary groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, awakens to a cloudy morning and can’t find his shadow. I know I’m looking for an early spring and warmer weather to come our way.
No matter the weather–cloudy, sunny, rainy, or snowy–by group consensus, February’s meeting will be via Zoom.
- Date: Wednesday, February 2nd
- Time: 1:00-3:00 pm via Zoom
- Topic: Where Are You On Your Parkinson’s Journey
Zoom link will be sent out the day before the meeting. Please plan to log on from a private area of your home to preserve the group’s confidentiality.
We have all embarked on this Parkinson’s journey, unplanned and unexpectedly, some of us more recently, some of us many years ago. We want to acknowledge the loss that comes with this diagnosis, a loss we continue to carry as we adjust and adapt to the challenges that Parkinson’s keeps throwing at us. It is not an easy journey, but we keep on trekking, armed with strength, courage, and determination, supported by family, friends, and each other along the way.
February will be a good time to continue getting to know each other better by sharing something we’ve lost, something we’ve gained, and something we’ve found that inspires us.
I’m one for inspirational quotes. I’ve included a few here to get you thinking. Do any of these speak to you? You are welcome to bring your own inspirational quote to share with us, if you wish.
We are here to support and motivate one another!
