February Meeting Announcement & News and Notes

Time sure is flying! Our February meeting date is approaching quickly:

        Date: Wednesday February 5
        Time: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
        Speaker: Dr. John W. Dresely

Dr. Dresely is a Developmental Optometrist with an office in Chantilly, Virginia. His specialty is vision therapy. He works with children and adults with vision issues such as the related to Parkinson’s. Check out his website if you wish to read more about him.

A number of us mentioned eyes issues at Joy Mclaughlin’s presentation on balance at our January meeting, so Dr. Dresely’s visit should be timely and relevant. Speaking of Joy, I am still working on posting a summary of her excellent presentation, so stay tuned.

Upcoming Meetings and Guest Speakers:
        March 4:     TBD
April 1:        Dr. Sean Rogers, Movement Disorder Specialist, Inova
May 6:         Dawn Lewis, The Parkinson’s Foundation

In other news:
PFNCA (Parkinson’s Foundation of the National Capital Area) is conducting a Wellness Program Questionnaire. They are looking for input on programs offered and suggestions for new programs and classes. Also if you already take classes and wish to add some words of praise for the class and instructor, this is an opportune time to do so. They are looking for comments no later than February 15. You can link HERE.
