May 1 Meeting and Other Announcements

April showers bring May flowers and the first Wednesday of the month heralds the arrival of our next meeting.

Date: Wednesday May 1Version 2
Time: 1.00 – 3.00 p.m.
Topic: Could a cluttered life and house be a sign of poorly controlled symptoms?

The Parkinsons Diva, Maria De Leon, thinks so and writes about it on her blog. As a neurologist who has Parkinson’s Disease, she suggests looking at degrees of untidiness as a sign that things are amiss. What do you think? Her blog post is a great jumping off point for our group discussion this month.

  • Is the appearance of your home something, along with personal care, that our neurologists should be asking about?
  • What does your home life look like?
  • Have there been any changes lately?
  • Any tips or shortcuts you have to share?

Note this was posted as our April topic before we got confirmation from Dr. Rogers. The summary of our questions and his detailed answers can be found in the previous April Meeting Notes post.

The following meeting is Wednesday June 5, which will be our last formal meeting before we break for the summer months of July and August.

June has traditionally been our luncheon month. Mark your calendars; details to follow. We will kick off our 6th year as a support group in the fall on Wednesday September 4 with Dr. Falconer as our guest speaker.

Another tradition our group has informally enjoyed is perusing the farmer’s market in the parking lot after our meeting. Hours are 3.00 to 7.00 pm and they are open weekly on Wednesdays as of April 18 for the season.
