May 3 Meeting Notes and Decisions

Our May 3 meeting was held via Zoom. It was so great to see everyone! We went around the Zoom room, each of us sharing what’s been going on in our lives, our support group experiences, and whatever else we felt like sharing. We had a good turnout–I counted fourteen–including five members who have been unable to attend in-person meetings for the past year or so.

Based on everyone’s input prior to our meeting, plus all that was shared and discussed at the meeting, we have made the following decisions:

We will continue to meet on the first WEDNESDAY of each month, September through June, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. We looked at numerous options, trying to accommodate those who attend the BIG exercise class at Fair Oaks Hospital, but every option conflicted with something or someone, and frankly, we chose the path of least resistance. Our hope is that our Wednesday exercisers can participate in both if they wish to, even if it means arriving late to our meeting.

We will alternate meeting in-person (at our same location) and via Zoom to accommodate everyone as best we can. Although many of our members prefer to meet in-person, for others meeting in-person is not possible. The Zoom meetings offer the added benefit of allowing us to invite guest speakers outside our geographic area. Thank you for all your speaker suggestions and recommendations!

Plans for our next meeting, June 7, are to meet for lunch from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Details to follow. We are leaning toward a restaurant with an outdoor covered patio.

  1. does anyone remember the names of the 2 ophthalmologists recommended that deal with pd symptoms? I remember discussing it at a meeting a few years ago.
