Walking Off Parkinson’s in Washington, DC

The local Parkinson’s charitable foundation, Parkinson’s Foundation of the National Capital Area (PFNCA), held its annual fundraising walk, “Walk off Parkinson’s, this morning.  As before, it was held at the MLB Washington Nationals stadium, Nats Park.  The stadium itself is a good draw, it’s the one time you can go to DC and 1) find parking and 2) not have to pay for it.  There are two walk options depending on how far you want to go and there are programs right at the stadium for people who choose not to walk at all.  I saw boxing being demonstrated.  It looked like fun but the line was a bit long.

Our group was well -represented.  I saw at least 5 or 6 others and got  to meet their spouses. It looked like a packed house so hopefully, this was another successful event for PFNCA.  I guarantee no one had a better time than my husband, who got to have batting  practice in the Nat’s batting cage and fake a beautiful outfield catch.  And look how spiffy we looked in our new shirts:
