Continuing with our Back-to-Basics theme this year, Physical Therapist Joy McLaughlin will discuss Physical Therapy for people with Parkinson’s disease, including the availability of at-home therapy. We all have heard about the importance of exercise with Parkinson’s disease. What about physical therapy? Should we work with a physical therapist to develop a home exercise program?

Joy is an amazing therapist—knowledgable, experienced, compassionate, and supportive. Many of us participate in her BIG exercise class through PFNCA.

Joy will also cover the basic WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHY, WHEN and HOW questions about PT such as: WHO is the best physical therapist to treat people with Parkinson’s, WHAT are the most important benefits, WHERE can we go for treatment, WHEN should we start, WHY is it important, HOW often do we need PT, and HOW much of the cost do Medicare and other health insurance policies cover?

Her talk will be followed by a Q & A period, where she will address all our questions and concerns.

In addition to your questions, bring your enthusiasm. We are here to learn how to keep moving together!
