I don’t know about you, but having five Thursdays in November has really thrown my internal schedule off. Thanksgiving felt like it came early and our upcoming December meeting date has crept up on me and is suddenly a week away. Hopefully you already have the 2023/2024 meeting dates marked on your calendars. We are planning on a holiday lunch again this year with Just-Us Share Time.
- Date: Wednesday, December 6
- Time: 1:00 pm-2:30 pm
- Location: Auditorium
- Topic: Holiday Lunch and Just-Us Share Time
RSVP by Monday December 4! Let us know yes or no. We need to give a headcount for table set-up.
Bring Your Own Lunch! It worked out well last year. So, along the lines of an old saying, ‘if it’s not broke, don’t fix it,’ we are inviting each of you to bring your own lunch. This way we can each accommodate our individual dietary preferences, restrictions, and needs.
Optional: Bring to Share! Completely optional, but if you’d like to bring a dessert or anything to eat or drink to share, kindly let us know. It would also be nice to have soda or juice, if anyone wishes to volunteer. Large bottles are fine. Paper plates, napkins, and cups will be supplied. Plan on bringing your own water.
Meet in the Auditorium! We have coordinated to meet in the auditorium for our lunch. It is down the hall from and a little past the classroom where we generally meet.
Just-Us Share Time! The holiday season is traditionally stressful for many of us. Living with Parkinson’s is notoriously stressful for most of us. Let’s talk about stress and anxiety during our Just-Us Share Time. How do you cope, both on a day-to-day basis and during the holiday season? Where do you look for self-motivation and inspiration? How do you restore your inner calm and peace? Please bring a short poem or something else that speaks to you OR come prepared to share an activity that lifts your spirits and keeps you going. Let’s talk about how we go about restoring our balance and ‘keep on truckin’ on this Parkinson’s journey.
For everyone’s safety, we ask that you not attend if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to anyone who is ill. By agreement with our sponsoring organization, we do not publicly post our meeting place.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next week in December!
