I lost a dear friend this week. I dedicate the Parkinson’s Walk on Sunday to her memory. I’ve written and rewritten a memorial and each time its either been too personal or too cold. If you want to know more about her, you can read the post, “Losing Herself”, on the WhyNotMeBlog.
With a heavy heart, I report the passing of Karen Allen on Saturday, September 5. Karen and her husband Rich were part of our Fair Oaks Support Group family. To those who knew her, Karen was a strong, determined, spunky, down-to-earth, beautiful person who faced the challenges of PD with grace and good humor. She was a friend and role model to many of us. Our prayers and thoughts are with her husband and loving care partner, Rich, her children and other family members.
