Recipe, Article, Resources & More = Lots of Links to Share

Great seeing everyone at yesterday’s meeting. I thoroughly enjoyed our guest speaker, Dr. Rogers. He has such an encouraging, confident, and knowledgable bedside manner! Look for a recap of all the information he shared with us over the next few days.

In the meanwhile, wanted to post all these wonderful articles and resources shared by some of our members.

Do you wear a FitBit or another activity tracker? The Physical Therapy Journal in their August issue reports that Common Activity Trackers May Be Inaccurate for Patients with PD. Definitely worth a read. (The article was provided by the member’s daughter, who is a physical therapist.)

Another member swears by My New Roots’ Life-Changing Loaf of Bread she’s been baking as a constipation cure. This bread is gluten-free, whole-grain, and no-knead. Tastes delicious and low sugar too. Recipe can be found at the link above.

There was mention yesterday of CBD Oil, which is now legal in Virginia. One of our members shared NuLeaf Naturals as an online resource for more information. You can also order CBD products from them. The usual caveat about discussing with your doctor first.

Cycle Chi in Vienna offers a New Parkinson’s Cycle Class – For People Living with Parkinson’s Disease — every Thursday from 1.30 p.m. – 2.30 p.m. Note you do need to email or call for a pre-class assessment. More information at their website.

Two new Side by Side Support Groups are starting in Arlington this coming Wednesday, April 10, one for caregivers and one for people with Parkinson’s. They will be held at the same time, but in separate spaces in the same location. Meetings will be the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Click to download SideBySide_Flyer_2.0

Thank you again to our members for all this useful information. Keep these resources coming!
