The last post on our website was on Social Distancing and how it has affected some of us.

What are your experiences?
How do you help yourself cope?
Please share in the comments section if you like.

One of our members suggests you SMILE at yourself every time you pass a mirror. Not only does it make you feel better, it exercises your facial muscles too!

Speaking of Social Distancing, it has made our Resource Links for Exercise and Other Classes temporarily obsolete.

Online classes through Zoom and FaceBook Live have filled the void. A few of those resources:

You can subscribe INOVA’s Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Center’s email newsletter to be kept up-to-date on their online offerings. such as their Parkinson’s-related educational webinars. Slides from the presentation on May 1, Advancements in the Treatment of Parkinson’s disease, can be found here.

PFNCA is offering Online Wellness Classes Over Zoom. Offerings include exercise, dance, yoga, communication club, and more. Registration is required through their site.

Parkinson’s Social Network has a weekly e-mail newsletter you can sign up for. Their Online Resources page is particular rich with information about online exercise classes, voice practices, and educational offerings.

Some of you may remember Trisha Stotler’s visit to our group a few years ago. She is a meditation teacher affiliated with The Insight Meditation Community (IMCW) in Washington DC. She is offering a daylong retreat on Saturday, May 16, via Zoom, with plenty of interactive elements and movements. Newcomers to meditation are warmly welcomed. More information can be found at the link above and here.
